We in the Plains School District are committed to the study Native American culture,

history and lore.  North America’s indigenous people are a vibrant and richly textured component of the American ideal, but a component long ignored.  The stereotypes of a century ago have guided our student’s perceptions and dominated our learning environment.  We are striving to break these molds, to escape the limitations of a system based on the

 idea of a single Indian people and explore the depth of tribal life.
