Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year!

  • About Mrs. Laws

This is my second year teaching at Plains High School. I have the honor of teaching all the "odd" classes of English - 7th grade, 9th grade, 11th grade. I was raised in Kalispell and have progressed to smaller and smaller towns. I completed my bachelor's degree at the University of Montana - Western and moved from Dillon to Libby to teach middle school English Language Arts. Outside of school, I spend as much time outside as possible: fishing, hiking, camping with my dog, Murph.

Teaching in Plains is an exciting adventure, and I can't wait to see what my students will do this year! My teaching philosophy focuses on critical thinking, discussion, and production. I expect my students to come to class each day ready to have spirited conversations about the texts we are reading and how they relate to our lives and the world we live in now. We will read, write, and talk every day.
